Fringe, sounds almost exactly like ...

The Craft Star's mustard fringe challenge and I managed a lampshade.  The glue is still all over my fingers, but at least the shade itself didn't end up adhered to my personage. It's finished and this baby is going 'straight to the pool room'.

I often read blogs that are quite profound and insightful, or are simply beautiful, or describe a life or display a talent that us mortals could only dream of, and all I can think to say about this is that 'fringe' rhymes with one of my favourite rude words.

Mrs Smith you are  neither funny nor sophisticated.

Oooh err. Nice work Mrs Smith. Perhaps it's my demure mind but I'm struggling to find a rude work that rhymes with fringe. Cringe, whinge, binge... so is it a foreign word? You seem to have a penchant for those!

OK, so not ALWAYS sophisticated but what would be the funny in that?

Mighty fine lampshade work, Mrs Smith.

p.s. I'm with Gina on the demure-mind front... cannot fathom what that word could be... perhaps I should ask my children... OMG, my 9 year old just said it!!!
(Don't fret on the youth of today... She was just playing an alphabet-powered rhyme game when hubby broke into a big smile on said-word!)

Great shade! I too have no idea about the rude word... but perhaps I don't need to know.

Oh my word - I just figured out the rhyme. It popped into my head as I was walking through Princes Square this morning.

I'd never have thought it of you, Mrs Smith.

Hmmm, actually, I take that back.
